Sports Artist - Al SorensonAl Sorenson is gaining more popularity and visibility in the sports art community. Through the combination of acrylics and a palette knife, he is able to create a feeling of movement and motion that helps to capture the essence of subjects. His profound use of color captures the emotion and excitement of the event, while still focusing on the small details that complete the personality of the subject.

Al's love of art and sports has been a passion since childhood. While attending Ripon College in Ripon, Wisconsin, he combined both his passion for art and playing sports. As a four year varsity basketball player, Al was a member of a nationally ranked (1989) and conference champion (1991) ball club. His dedication and love of sports has since carried over to his artwork.

Mr. Sorenson's work has been appearing more and more not only in the Chicagoland area but nationwide as well. Most recently, Al has created drawings for Pro Stick and Hampsterdirect.com. His drawings of U.S. Cellular can be found on limited edition bats commemorating the White Sox World Championship and the inauguration of the new Busch Stadium in St. Louis. His work has also been a focus of memorabilia shops and galleries across the country.

Al's work is owned by a number of former Chicago athletes including Bob Love, Dennis Lick, Minnie Minoso, the Ali family, and the late Keith Magnuson and current Chicago Bear quarterback Rex Grossman.
